Overview

Clinical Psychology is a critical branch of mental health care dedicated to understanding, diagnosing, and treating emotional and behavioral challenges across all age groups. It combines the science of human behavior with therapeutic interventions to support individuals in leading healthier and more fulfilling lives.

The Mental Healthcare Act (2017) highlights that mental health disorders affect nearly 7.5% of India’s population at any given time, with one in seven Indians requiring professional mental health support during their lifetime. Despite these numbers, awareness and access to care remain limited, making it imperative to address these gaps through accessible, evidence-based mental health services.

Situated within a hospital, the department ensures that mental health care is seamlessly integrated with medical support for individuals dealing with diverse concerns. Our Clinical Psychology Department provides holistic, multidisciplinary care in collaboration with other specialists, such as pediatric neurologists, psychiatrists, and others healthcare professionals.

With a commitment to patient-centered care, the Clinical Psychology Department ensures accessible, ethical, and effective mental health services within the hospital’s multidisciplinary framework.

What Does a Clinical Psychologist Do?

A clinical psychologist is a trained professional who works to understand, assess, and treat emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues. They use evidence-based methods like counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological assessments to address concerns.
